BabyBounty is a digital wishlist management platform. We charge a flat service fee of R20 per gift finalisation. This fee covers the digital processing of your personalised gift note and the automated synchronisation of the parent's inventory.

Upon successful payment, the "Gift Finalisation" service is delivered instantaneously. The digital gift note is generated and the selected item is moved from the public wishlist to the recipient's private "Gift Locker" within the app. No physical goods are shipped by BabyBounty; physical fulfillment is handled by the third-party retailers linked in the wishlist.

Due to the instantaneous and digital nature of our service, the R20 service fee is non-refundable once the transaction is successful. If you experience a technical error or a duplicate charge, please contact our support team for a manual review.

At Baby Bounty, we believe your family's memories and your financial data deserve the highest level of protection. This policy outlines how we handle your information with a "privacy-by-design" approach, ensuring your data remains your own.

How Photo Scanning Works: When you initiate a scan, selected photos are temporarily uploaded from your device to our secure cloud infrastructure for AI processing. Here's what happens:

• Compression & Upload: Photos are compressed and securely transmitted via HTTPS encryption to our servers.
• AI Processing: Images are forwarded to Google Gemini AI for object recognition. The AI is explicitly instructed to identify only objects (toys, clothing, strollers, blankets) and programmed with a "No People" policy — it ignores human faces and figures entirely.
• Immediate Deletion: Once the AI analysis is complete and matches are identified, the photos are immediately and permanently deleted from our servers. We do not store, archive, or retain your images in any form.
• What We Keep: Only the results of the scan are saved — gift match data and references to where photos exist on your device (local file paths like content:// or file://). Your actual photos remain stored only in your device's gallery or cloud storage (Google Photos, iCloud).

Third-Party Processing: Google Gemini AI processes your images as part of our matching service. According to Google's policies, images sent to Gemini for inference are not used to train their public models. Processing is ephemeral and images are not retained by Google.

Your Control: Photo scanning only occurs when you explicitly initiate it via the "Scan Now" button or "Forensic Trace" feature. You control which photos are analyzed. The Smart Scanner can be disabled at any time in Settings.

Your financial security is our priority. Baby Bounty does not see, collect, or store your credit card or banking information. All payments and subscriptions are processed securely through Paystack, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. Your transaction data is governed by Paystack's industry-leading security protocols.

We collect the following information to provide our service:

• Account Information: Email addresses used for authentication and account recovery.
• User Content: Baby profiles (names, birth dates), gift details (names, givers, custom tags), and references to matched photos (local device file paths like content:// or file:// that point to where images exist on your device).
• AI Scan Results: Gift match metadata (which gifts were identified in which photos, confidence scores, AI-generated tags).
• Device Information: Push notification tokens (if opted in) and basic diagnostic data (crash logs) to ensure app stability.

Important: We store references to your photos (file paths on your device), not the actual image files. Your photos remain stored only in your device gallery or personal cloud storage (Google Photos, iCloud). We cannot access your photos unless you explicitly initiate a scan.

We use your data to synchronize your locker across devices, send push notifications (if opted in), and manage your Premium subscription. We never sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third-party advertisers or data brokers.

In accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and other applicable global privacy standards, you retain full rights over your data. You may request access to your stored gift metadata, request data portability, object to processing, or the permanent deletion of your account at any time through the app's Settings menu or via our Data Deletion Request Form. We maintain reasonable safeguards to protect the integrity of the minimal data we do hold and respond to all data subject requests within the legally required timeframes.

We share necessary data securely with the following infrastructure partners to operate the app:

• Supabase: For secure database hosting, user authentication, and storing gift match metadata (not photos).
• Google Gemini AI: When you initiate a scan, compressed photos are temporarily sent to Google Gemini for object recognition and gift matching. Images are processed ephemerally and are not used by Google to train their public AI models. Google does not retain your images after processing.
• RevenueCat: To manage in-app subscriptions and premium access.
• Expo: For sending push notifications and monitoring app crashes.
• Paystack: For secure payment processing (see Financial Data section above).

Data Minimization: We only share the minimum data necessary with each provider to deliver our service. Photos sent to Google Gemini are deleted immediately after analysis. No provider receives access to your complete photo library.
